Last July, the ATT project final conference was held at the WS4 in Berlin-Germany. The ATT project as a basic concept for sustainable and energy efficient development. The cooperation between Ecuador and German Universities is held by PUCE and TU Berlin.
All participants received a certification. During the WS4, the first academic exchange between TU Berlin and PUCE was developed in the Vocational Training Center "Berufsförderungswerk e.V." in Brandenburgo - Germany. In order to share and enhance practical skills, the Ecuadorian team attended to a week long training program.
The program took place during one week, in which the Ecuadorian team visited different construction workshops and received masonry and carpentry training.
During the Final Conference, the participants from both universities presented the early aims of the project to the reached objectives. Proff. Ruckert mentioned that the development of the project has opened the posibility to understand these collaborations not only as the introduction of technology, but as processes of knowledge interchange and mutual comprehension.
Part of the Final Conference was the presentation by students from both universities, Daniel Mera in representation of TU Berlin and Con Lo Que Hay students from PUCE.
After the final conference, as a cultural activity, the Ecuadorian team visited the "Reichstag.", German Parlament. Afterward, the team had a meeting with a German Parlament member, Sr. Thomas Feist. Who is in charged of abroad Technology Transfer projects.
In order to present the project, a networking meeting took place on the headquarter of the Chamber of Construction in Postdam.
As a final activity, the Ecuadorian team was invited to the Ecuadorian Embassy in Berlin.
1.Intercambio académico: desarrollo de investigaciones y artículos académicos indexados entre ambas universidades.
2.Intercambio estudiantil entre alumnos de la PUCE y TU Berlin.
3.Edificio sustentable: Futura planificación de un edificio de investigación y entrenamiento vocacional para obreros, profesionales y estudiantes y su posible construcción.
4.En miras del congreso mundial Habitat III, el proyecto ATT estará expuesto en el stand de Alemania.
Esperamos que esta colaboración sea fructífera para ambos países. Para nosotros fue un gusto que la transferencia de tecnologías haya trascendido a una transferencia de conocimientos y a una mutua comprensión. Gracias a todo el equipo que trabajó y sigue colaborando durante este tiempo.
It´s been two years since the ATT Project began and these are the results:
1. Academic exchange: research and publication of academic papers.
2. Student exchange: TU Berlin - PUCE.
3. Sustainable building: Future planning and design of the training center in Quito as a Training and Research Center of Sustainable Architecture.
4.Under the umbrella of Habitat III, presentation of ATT Project results in the German stand.
We hope this two-years process has been fruitful for both countries. For us, it has been a pleasure to see how the technology transfer transcended to a knowledge transfer and a mutual comprenhension. Thanks to all the participants who work and keep on collaborating during this time.
